About Us

The Federation of Orthopaedic and Trauma Trainees in Europe (FORTE), was founded during the EFORT Congress of 2005, in Lisbon (Portugal). Our common goals are the improvement of orthopedic educational standards, enabling learning opportunities and promotion of colleagues network throughout our members in Europe.

At the outset, our aims are the following:

- Networking and fellowship possibilities.

- Outreach to orthopaedic surgeons (trainee and consultants), links with industry.

- Reference point for Orthopaedic Training matters.

- Teaching and training.

- Exchange of ideas and communication.

Because of Europe's diverse training systems, we have decided to work on two levels. At the top is a true Federation, where national trainee bodies subscribe. At the grass-roots level, individuals can sign up too.

Our Educational event – the FORTE Summer School was established in 2016. This exciting project has gathered the scientific support of many European Societies like EFORT, EORS, ESSKA, Eurospine, EHS, EFAS, EPOS, EMSOS, and many more, with the participation of more than 28 different countries. It is a truly European project that will provide a unique platform for Ortho & Trauma trainees! Learning, relaxing, and networking in a wonderful setting.
