The EFORT Invited Nation Programme aims at raising awareness and recognition towards the contribution made to the management of musculo-skeletal diseases worldwide and to strengthen ties with colleagues around the globe. In 2014 EFORT was delighted to honour the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) as “Invited Nation”.

Message from AAOS, the 2014 EFORT Congress Guest Nation:

Founded in 1933, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is one of the largest providers of musculoskeletal education to orthopaedic surgeons and others in the world.

Its continuing medical education activities include a world-renowned Annual Meeting, multiple CME courses held around the world, and various medical and scientific publications and electronic media materials.

The AAOS, with a membership of over 38,000, annually convenes the world’s largest orthopaedic scientific and education congress, with an average attendance of 28,000-32,000, including orthopaedic surgeons, allied health care professionals and industry exhibitors. Approximately 32% of physician attendees are international.

AAOS has a long history of cooperation with EFORT and the European orthopaedic community. 

In 2012, the AAOS Board of Directors graciously accepted the invitation from EFORT to serve as the 2014 Guest Nation in London. 

We are honored to be welcomed to London and to share the meeting with our colleagues and friends from Europe.
